To our hard-working students who need a little pick-me-up - this event is for you. Tanaka Nights is a recurring event that offers luxurious meals at a heavily reduced price, as a well-deserved treat for Tohoku University students. This upcoming event will offer a tuna sashimi bowl with grated yam. This rice bowl would normally cost an estimated 1,395 yen, but it is being offered for just 300 yen.
Tanaka Nights features fresh local ingredients, and this iteration of the event is no exception. The tuna is so fresh, before it is servedm you can watch it be expertly carved before your eyes during a special tuna-cutting show. The demonstration by Sendai Sabaki Girls (Sendai Fisheries) involves filleting a hefty 80kg tuna by hand. This is a great chance to learn more about local seafood and take part in fun quizzes in the process.
Only 600 bowls will be offered, so please be sure to arrive early to maximize your chances of getting this one-coin special dinner!
